After the shoot was over, Celine went to shower and change and Darian left, hugging me goodbye and promising to call me later. I wasn’t naïve, though. “Wait.” He held up a hand. “I thought maybe we could watch a movie together. I brought some pastries, too.”

“Pastries?”

“Yes,” he said, walking to the counter and setting down a box. “Pastries. Baked goods with fruit in the middle, in this case.”

“Where’d you get them?”

“My mom made them. I had dinner with her and my siblings tonight and she sent me out with a box and orders to give them to the girl I met.”

“What?”

“I told her that I’d left a girl I really liked for dinner with my family and she knocked me on the head. Apparently I should have asked you along.”

“I’m not quite ready to meet your mother,” I said.

“Maybe someday,” he replied. “Let’s choose a movie to watch, if you’re interested.”

I looked at him, with his sensual lips and leather jacket and golden eyes. Something about his witty remarks, focused photography and definitely his performance in bed tempted me. I was definitely interested.
